One icy morning I looked out my window
& saw the most beautiful crow flying in the snow
I watched it land in a very icy tree.
Dust of Snow, by Robert Frost
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.
(Rue means 'sorrow or regret' so "Of a day I had rued" means a day I regretted having.)
Beautiful!!! This blog entry brightened up my day.
ReplyDeleteI really like your blog!!!
ReplyDeleteAnnie, I'm so impressed by your photo. You really caught the scene in all it's icy beauty. I really like the poem too!
ReplyDeleteThat is an excellent photo. I like it a lot. I also like the poem you chose!
ReplyDeleteOh, Annie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous shot! You certainly captured a crystalline moment. I love the way you paired it with the poem by Robert Frost, one of my favorite poets. I'll look forward to more blog posts from you. Hopefully, you'll inspire Emma to post more frequently. I'm addicted to your mom's blog.
Smiles,
Mrs. Stanley
